About Pocket
Pocket is a consulting structural engineering practice that was formed with the specific aim of working with good imaginative architects and designers. The practice was established in 2017 with a clear vision to design elegant engineering solutions, produce clear and well presented drawings, sketches and calculations, and provide a high-quality and enthusiastic service. Our work covers a wide range, both in size and type. Projects vary from minor alterations and extensions, to large new buildings using the most recent developments in materials and construction techniques. Since our inception, the practice has grown and hosts a studio in both Auckland and Christchurch, working with many award winning architects and designers on projects across New Zealand.

The Role
A senior structural engineer at Pocket would be working on projects across detailed design and construction monitoring to deliver high quality solutions. Preparing sketches, calculations and reports to ensure project delivery and be in regular communication with project architects and other building industry professionals.
This role holds the unique opportunity to become a Pocket Project Leader, (someone responsible for the concept structural design and overall project lead) with Senior leadership training and support.

What you bring
- Experience with construction monitoring in residential and commercial projects
- The ability to prioritise workload, juggle a variety of tasks at once and work effectively within a team.
- A flexible, positive approach and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy, creative atmosphere.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A BE in Civil Engineering (or equivalent by Washington Accord)
- A valid work permit and living local to Christchurch
- Valid NZ Drivers License
